To help you get your head around all the different betting options and the payouts attached to these bets we have put together our quick glance guide below.
All the betting types and the payouts pertain to the American Roulette variant that can be played online at any of our featured Roulette sites.
The first bet and the one that offers the best payout odds is the
Single Number or Straight Up bet, you simply place a wager on one number and if it spins in you will be paid out at odds of 35-1
The next betting type is called the
Upwards and Sideways Double or Split bet and this is simply a wager on two adjacent numbers, if you bet on this and either number spins in then you can expect a payout of 17-1
A
Three on a row or as it is also known a Street bet entails you betting on three numbers in a row,
get this bet spun in and you will win and be paid out at odds of 11-1
The next bet is known as a
Box of Four or a Square bet and in this wager you are covering a block of four numbers, This bet will payout at odds of 8-1 if you hit one of your chosen numbers.
A
Box of Five or Five-Number Line bet covers five numbers, and these are the 00, 0, 1, 2 and 3.
This is the worst paying bet of all on any game of Roulette so try to avoid placing it.
You can also place what is called a Column bet 2:1 that covers all twelve numbers in that column this pays you out at odds of 2-1 if you win
A
Dozen bet also covers 12 separate numbers and if you win this bet you will be rewarded with payout odds of 2:1
There are also several Even-Money bets these all pay 1:1, you can be on the color of the next number spun in either red or black, or whether the next number will be odd or even, or whether the next number is low (1-18) or high (19-36)
You should try and avoid playing American Roulette as it offers the worst overall payout percentages of any Roulette game. This is due to it having a Double Zero in addition to the single zero.
As it has two zeros but still pays the same odds as the European version of Roulette the payout percentage for this game is 5.26%, the five number bet listed above is even worse as that bet has a house edge of
7.89%
